I was born the youngest of two in Louisville, Kentucky in May 1992. I graduated from Floyd Central High School (FCHS) in 2011. While attending FCHS, I participated in Cross Country and Track and Field and lettered 7 of 8 seasons. My junior and senior year I also attended Shawnee Aviation (a vocational program) and earned my private pilot license.
I went to Indiana State University (ISU) for aviation and athletics but graduated with a B.S. in Earth and Environmental Sciences. While attending ISU I was allowed the opportunity to participate in undergraduate research. My research was with Dr. Jeffery Stone in his paleolimnology laboratory. Dr. Stone hired me as his laboratory manager and I would keep the laboratory clean, stocked, and train new students. The research I completed used diatoms and geochemistry to evaluate the status of a remediated brownfield in Terre Haute, Indiana. I presented my research in Denver, Colorado at the Geological Society of America Conference and while there I met my fiancé Andrea.
I was able to attend a geologic field camp in the Black Hills with South Dakota School of Mines. The six week adventure was based out of Beulah, Wyoming but we would travel to different sites every week. While there I learned how to apply what I had learned at ISU and really enjoyed my experience.
After graduating from ISU I moved to Bloomington, Indiana and was hired by Mr. Rudy Fields of Fields Environmental, Inc as a Staff Geologist in May 2017. I moved to VET Environmental Engineering in January 2018.
When I am not at work you can find me remodeling Andrea’s house, working on my motorcycles, or in the woods.
